Totally GORgeous. Love the copper.

Would love to trade with you sometime.

Also would love to see a tutorial on how you get the copper patina effects. I've been messing around with copper tape, vinegar and salt, and making the most awful fumes, but the copper remains serenely unaffected!

LOL i know the feeling! I have been using bleach and ammonia (NOT together!)bleach on one piece, ammonia on another.... also if you use the art store patinas, you can spray bleach on it after, and it really kicks it up. My boyfriend has used copper sulfate crystals they used to sell at garden stores everywhere, but it's getting harder to find, its root killer, and the main ingredient in all those expensive patina solutions at the art store. I'm still in the experimental stage myself, just be careful not to mix acids with corrosives (bleach products with ammonia products)

I love your style of work, it is just beautiful! I see you love mermaids, I do to... always have. There is something about them that is just plain "breath-taking". Nice work!

Cool - thanks for the advice, I'll try it. I'm also trying to avoid the art-store (my poor credt card). It sounds better than another piece of advice I got which was to embed the copper in a bag of crushed, slightly dampened salt-'n-vinegar crisps. Disaster waiting to happen - I can just see my son settling down to snack in front of the golf on tv and consuming verdigris contaminated junkfood!

Talking of offspring - I see you've encountered my daughter *Athalour - nice, huh?
:iconkelpie2004:
lol you can also put a bit of bleach in a spray bottle, and some vinegar in another spray bottle and spray them both on at the same time, this is supposedly pretty cool.. (havent done it yet) my boyfriend is the pro at all that he uses all kinds of stuff...though we draw the line at mouse urine soaked sawdust LOL
